All of our handmade scarves are made through a process known as nuno felting. This involves using a fabric such as organza, silk, cotton and other suitable fabrics with an open weave that the wool roving can penerate through. Wool roving and other fibres are laid on the fabric and then soapy water is applied. Bubble wrap is placed on top and a lenthy process of rolling and rubbing begins.
When the fabrics are thoroughly fused together they are rinsed and the fulling process begins. This causes the wool to shrink. Because the fabric does not shrink it forms random gathers and ruffles ensuring each scarf is unique
The two scarves shown are organza, with a mix of pink, mauves, purples in pure wool and silk fibres. The darker scarf is a "cobweb" design with random holes. There are only these two available at the moment.
They are able to be hand washed and left to dry at room temp
