Welcome to Tweed Crafts.
My name is Pam and I live in Ness on the Isle of Lewis. I have many kind weaver friends who give me their tweed 'waste' (the selvage from the edge of their loom left over from weaving Harris Tweed fabric). From these I knit or crochet (or both) warm woollen rugs. Many of my rugs go to a charity in the Philippines where they are used to sit or lie on. My husband Gary is a carpenter and he makes my crochet hooks for me from hardwood dowel.
I also make little mice (about 5inches high) from tweed fabric, from more than 80 different tweed patterns. Gary also cuts out the mice for me, so it is very much a family business. Owls are a new addition (about 9inches high), as are the lavender pouches (about 3inches sq.)
